Take a day out of your busy schedule to immerse yourself in the craft of photography, producing a handmade book or framed print of your photographs.

In the demanding modern world we all make photographs everyday using our smart phones, but we tend to leave them on our phones unsure how to make the most of them and prolong their enjoyment.

This one day workshop will take you through the essentials of smart phone photography, controlling exposure, focus and composition to get the very best out of the powerful device in your pocket. You will then be shown a craft based process of making a print or series of prints to turn into a small handmade book, using a Japanese binding method that is simple and very easy to learn.

Giving your photographs a life after they have been shared on social media, these beautiful prints and books can made as delightful cards, books or gifts for family and friends.

The simple beauty of a printed photograph cannot be underestimated, but put it in a book of similar themed images and you have elevated the most beautiful moments of your life to a precious and long lasting keepsake of memories.

The day will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Falconhurst Estate in Edenbridge, Kent. Starting at 9.45 with coffee and introductions, you will be guided through smart phone photography before being set a small project to shoot in the gardens surrounding The Barn that is our base for the day.

Lunch will be provided - prepared at the Falconhurst kitchen.

After lunch you will be shown the basics of editing your images look their best before printing them out and then making a hand sewn book or adding your favourite image to a frame.

Tea, coffee and cake will be provided in the afternoon to keep your energies up before finishing at approximately 4pm.
