with Paul Sanders
No matter where you are in the world, discover stillness and uncover a fresh way of seeing by joining Paul Sanders on an inspiring online mindful photography workshop to ignite your creativity.
Shed the pressure to perform. Trade pixel-perfect edits for the imperfect beauty of authenticity. Learn to see with your heart, to feel the symphony of nature play upon your senses, to listen to the wisdom your camera whispers back.
So, are you ready to trade "likes" for "light"? To swap filters for feelings? To embark on a journey of self-discovery, guided by the gentle lens of mindfulness? Paul Sanders and Discover Still await, not with promises of perfection, but with the whisper of a quiet revolution. A revolution where the shutter click isn't the climax, but the beginning – the beginning of a love story between you and the world around you, etched in light and silence.

Years ago when I started in photography every camera came with one lens; a humble 50mm standard lens. Nowadays, we are overwhelmed with choice, our bags laden with various lenses and filters, while zoom lenses have taken the place of the prime lens – loved for how easy they are. This has as many advantage as it has disadvantages, but has made us lazy and somewhat complacent.
I extend a challenge to you: to spend one year working with one lens, and nothing else to hide behind. Fifty Fifty is an online workshop built around a single question: what happens when the choice held within our camera bag is removed, and all that remains is the practice of seeing?
My latest workshop spans a whole year, and invites you to discover the discipline and craft of working with just a single lens for a whole year. We will meet online once a month, when I will offer you an assignment and guidance as to how to solve the problems created by the limitation of working with a single lens. The following sessions will be a review of the work submitted and a new challenge.
With the choice of multiple lenses stripped away, you’ll find that you lean more deeply into the craft of photography. You’ll spend more time connecting with your subject, thinking more deeply about framing and composition, and returning to the basics of how you see and how you photograph – without relying upon a myriad of lenses to do the heavy lifting for you. No more fumbling through your kit bag to find the ‘perfect’ lens. No more dashing out to buy more kit. Just you, your camera and the craft of photography.
Over the course of the year, I’ll provide technical guidance, practical support and creative feedback – in the company of a small, non judgemental community of likeminded photographers.
I do hope you’ll join me.
